XYZ Computer Desk (2007)
XYZ is a fast moving studio environment that requires a space which can grow with the company. We enjoy the design of the Apple computer range, though on a functional level, PC is preferred. So we designed a desk/computer as beautiful as a Mac but easily upgradeable like a PC. All computer components and cable management is contained within the thickness of the desk, and when upgrading is required, the desk lid simply flips open. CDRW/DVD, USB and Hot Keys are located on the side of the desk. The product is currently being tested in prototype format and will be available for purchase shortly.
Homemakers BenchArt (2007)
XYZ designed the "Park on The Bench" for the 2007 BenchArt Project, which forms part of the annual Cape Homemakers Expo. Well-known artists, designers and companies participated in designing benches which were auctioned off to raise monies for charity. Our solution aims to highlight the need to encourage green spaces in the inner city. It works by recognizing, via motion sensors, if a person would like to sit and automatically "pulls" the protruding grass into the bench providing a clean seating area.
XYZ Chaise Longue (2007)
Through simple geometric considerations objects can be transformed aesthetically or functionally. The furniture illustrated above is transformed from a couch into a Chaise Longue by simply rotating the centre cushion 180 degrees.
SwingEazy (2003)
SwingEazy helps golf players improve their game by warming up and stretching in a correct and controlled fashion. Once used, it increases range of motion, keeping muscles loose and joints balanced which reduces the risk of injury, focuses a player's mind on the game and improves performance.
Shell Autoserv (2001)
XYZ designed furniture for Shell Autoserve internationally. Working closely with architects to ensure brand and interior compatibility, the furniture designs covered the following: working surfaces, vanity screens, lockers and storage compartments. Autoserve around the world were able to download plans and recommendations to upgrade their interiors.
